It's not the first pop-up card I've ever made...
Here's a (terrible) photo of a pop-up card I made a couple of years ago. I made a few of these. They're quite pretty, and very intricate. The trouble is, the technique I used to make them involved a lot of fussy gluing, and they ended up very flimsy. With the new card that I made (and others that I will be making soon) I've used a much more sturdy method.
